FIDIS™

Fidis™

What technology will you be using in the future for auto-immunity and infectious disease technique analysis? The answer lies in the use of a revolutionary technology for the simultaneous detection of more than 100 parameters per patient.

The FIDIS™ offering is ideal for laboratories having a large number of analyses to be performed and looking for the best solution combining technique speed, protocol standardisation, result quality and reliability.

With its FIDIS™ offering, bmd offers a broad panel of multiplex analyses for auto-immune disease and infectious disease diagnostics and cytokine analysis.

FIDIS™ flow cytometer

  • Bmd's acquisition of Luminex xMAP® technology makes it possible to offer an unprecedented technological opportunity in laboratory bench top integration and automation.
This multiplex technology is based on the use of microspheres of different colours (red to infrared), of a uniform size, on which the antigens, which are assayed simultaneously, are fixed.
This technology makes it possible to assay potentially more than 100 analytes for each sample, and therefore obtain over 9000 results in a 96-well plate.

Bases of FIDIS™ technology

  • The samples are diluted and mixed with the microspheres. During the incubation step, the antibodies present in the serum are fixed on the antigens immobilised on the microsphere surface. A filtration washing step eliminates the non-fixed elements. A phycoerythrin conjugate targeted against human immunoglobulins detects the antibodies previously fixed. A final washing step stops the reaction and eliminates the unbound antibodies. The test is performed in a 96-well filtration microplate and the reading is performed using FIDIS™.

Reading of results

  • The microplate is read via a fluid stream conveying the microspheres into a reading chamber. Each analyte is identified by studying the unique fluorescence of each microsphere category, by means of red laser. Once identified, the quantification is performed simultaneously by a second green laser which excites the fluorescence on the microsphere surface. The fluorescence intensity is proportional to the quantity of antibodies fixed.

MLx Booster: Dedicated FIDIS™ control software

  • Equipped with an easy-to-use user-friendly interface, MLx Booster can be used to validate results, manage logs and allows complete traceability. The software can naturally be connected in both directions to the laboratory LIS. FIDIS™ and MLx Booster can be connected to CARIS™ systems to perform the microplate preparatory stage until the return of results.
